Aspirancy House, Sobea

Opened in 2025 in the Diocese of Nakuru: the house where aspirants take their first steps in Orionine life.

The house

The aspirancy house at Sobea, in the Diocese of Nakuru, opened in 2025. It is the house where aspirants take their first steps in Orionine life. Its director is Fr. Wycliffe Mumia.

It is a quiet place, and it is meant to be. What happens here happens slowly.

The Orionine journey

A vocation is not a decision taken once. It is a road, and the Congregation walks it in stages.

Aspirancy

The first stage: a young man who feels something and wants to look at it honestly. He gets to know the charism, the community and the works — and, just as importantly, the community gets to know him.

Aspirancy — here, at Sobea

The candidate lives the common life: prayer, study, work, and the ordinary friction of sharing a house. Here the question changes from “do I like this?” to “is God asking this of me?”

Novitiate — at Makutano-Mwea

A year set apart for the Constitutions, the life of the Founder, and the school of Jesus. It ends, if the Lord wills, in first vows. The novitiate →

Philosophy and theology — at Karen

Years of study at Tangaza and Utume, lived in an international community, with apostolate in the works of the Delegation. The formation house →

Then temporary vows, perpetual vows, and — for those called to it — ordination. Come and see →
