A Delegation of Charity

Thirty years, and still beginning

1996

The year the first Orionine missionary arrived in Kenya

Orione Centres serving children with special needs

The Sons of Divine Providence came to Kenya in 1996, in the footsteps of the Little Missionary Sisters of Charity, who had arrived in 1979 and through whom the first Kenyan vocations were found. From a single house on Langata South Road grew parishes, schools, centres for children with disabilities, dispensaries and farms. On 12 March 2024, in Tortona, the Delegation “Our Lady of the Rosary” was formally erected — a Kenyan chapter of a family present in 34 countries, with its own government and its own sons serving across the Congregation.
