Nine aspirants begin postulancy
The Delegation “Our Lady of the Rosary” in Kenya welcomed nine new postulants during the feast of Mary, Mother of Divine Providence, on 20 November 2024. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr. Anthony Njenga, Delegate Superior, at the Formation House in Nairobi.
Aspirants, students of philosophy, students of theology and some confreres from the communities of Kandisi and Kaburugi were present. Members of the Orionine Lay Movement also joined the celebration, as the Orionine charismatic family marked the closing of the Orionine Marian year.
A time to discover what is already inside
In his homily Fr. Njenga reminded the new postulants that the postulancy is the time to discover more clearly the qualities they carry within themselves, for their future mission in the Church, guided by the spirit of Don Orione and with the help of Mary, Mother of Divine Providence. He added that this period of postulancy is a time of preparation and, at the same time, of cultivating deeper human and Christian values in preparation for entry into the Novitiate.
The nine new postulants come from four countries — Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Sri Lanka: Samwel Sangalia Maina (Kenya); Jacob Marani Omwenga (Kenya); Sandeep Dilhan Meththasingha Arachchige Fernando (Sri Lanka); Benard Draparaku (Uganda); George Karanja Munyi (Kenya); Godwin Richard John (Tanzania); Reginald Lenkai Ndarasi (Kenya); Daniel Kisowe Mutuku (Kenya); William Kamande Wambui (Kenya).
We wish them every good thing in this new stage of their formation.
