170 young people gather at Nyadorera
From Tuesday 3 December to Sunday 8 December a meeting of young Orionines aged between 16 and 28 was held in the Delegation “Our Lady of the Rosary” — Kenya. The gathering took place at the community of Nyadorera, in the Archdiocese of Kisumu, and 170 young people took part.
They came from all five Orionine parishes in Kenya: Kaburugi, Kandisi, Gaitu, Kairi and Nyadorera.
The subjects they asked for
The themes tackled with the young people were: the intergenerational divide; accompaniment and counselling; mental well-being; career choice; and Don Orione and the young. The young people were accompanied by Orionine priests together with the Orionine sisters, with the help of experts who came to speak to them.
There were also games and sport, a trip to Port Victoria, and cultural activities.
At the closing Mass the young people were invited to be pilgrims of hope in living out their Christian calling at their young age, guided by the spirit of St. Luigi Orione.
