Four clerics profess perpetual vows
On Saturday 15 March 2025, four clerics in the theology house in Kenya made their perpetual profession into the hands of Fr. Anthony Njenga Mburu, Delegate in Kenya, and Fr. John Soccorro Castillo, Delegate of the Philippines.
Ch. Jared Otieno Awuor is from Kenya, and Chs. Evelio Castillon Bonares, Jay Canones Espina and Reynato R. Dominguez come from the Philippines. All four were in their third year of theological studies at Utume Don Bosco Theological College.
An act of dedication before dawn had gone far
On the morning of 15 March, during morning prayers, the four brothers made an act of dedication to Our Lady, seeking her intercession as they prepared to consecrate their whole lives in the Congregation of the Little Work of Divine Providence.
During the celebration Fr. Anthony Njenga reminded the four clerics that the call to religious life brings the baptismal promises to fulfilment, and is an initiative and a gift of God that asks for our free response — so that, living the evangelical counsels, we may imitate Christ poor, obedient and chaste for the Kingdom of God. He echoed the words of St. Luigi Orione: the world needs more love, and we must give it; we must be the leaven of the love of Christ in the world.
Fr. John Castillo, for his part, congratulated the newly perpetually professed brothers and brought them the good wishes of the Superior General and his Council. He expressed his joy as the Congregation welcomed the four brothers, saying that being called to religious life is not easy: there are many distractions, and without focusing on Christ the road can seem hard and demanding. May Mother Mary, through her intercession and her example, be a source of inspiration for the four new perpetually professed brothers.
