Three brothers profess perpetual vows in Nairobi
On Saturday 14 March 2026 the Orionine religious family in Kenya gathered at the Formation House community in Nairobi to celebrate the Perpetual Profession of Br. Justus Barongo Nyabuga (Kenya), Br. Rangamallik Nayak, known as Prabin (India), and Br. Monaj Baliasingh (India). Through the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience the three brothers expressed their lifelong commitment to God within the Congregation.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr. Anthony Njenga Mburu, Delegate Superior of the Delegation “Our Lady of the Rosary” — Kenya, who also gave the homily. Many Orionine confreres from the different communities of Kenya, together with the Don Orione Sisters and numerous religious men and women and lay faithful, took part in this joyful family celebration.
The parents and relatives of Ch. Justus Barongo Nyabuga were present, while Ch. Rangamallik Nayak and Ch. Monaj Baliasingh were accompanied by their foster parents and friends, since their families of origin are in India. The three clerics are in their third year of theological studies at the Utume Salesian Theological College in Nairobi.
Not human effort alone
In his homily Fr. Njenga reflected on the call of the prophet in the book of Jeremiah, underlining that every vocation is born of God’s initiative and grace. Religious life, he observed, is not sustained by human effort alone, but by the grace of God who continues to guide and strengthen those who answer his call.
Drawing on the letters of the apostle Paul, he showed how the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience help consecrated people to live with an undivided heart for the Lord, allowing them to serve the Church with greater freedom and dedication. He encouraged the brothers to remain faithful to the spirit of Luigi Orione, whose charism calls religious to give their lives to charity and to service, especially towards the poorest and most abandoned.
Fr. Njenga reminded the newly professed that perpetual profession marks a new stage in their journey: from now on they are mature members of the Congregation, called to contribute actively to its mission and its future.
A message from India
At the end of the celebration Fr. Anthony Njenga shared a message of congratulations sent by Fr. Arul Dhas, Delegate Superior of the Delegation “Our Lady of Good Health” — India.
In his message Fr. Arul Dhas expressed great joy and offered special congratulations to the three confreres, and particularly to those from India, assuring them that the Indian Delegation rejoices with them and considers them a gift to the Church and to the Congregation. He encouraged the confreres to stand firm in the core values of religious life and always to keep Christ at the centre of their lives and decisions, and stressed the importance of guarding the spirit of communion and fraternity that gives life to religious communities.
He also expressed gratitude to the formation community in Nairobi and to the Delegation of Kenya for their accompaniment and care in the formation of the brothers.
Entrusting the three confreres to the motherly protection of the Virgin Mary, the community prayed that their lives may continue to reflect the spirit of charity and dedication.
